OVERVIEW

On a mountainside, above the Caribbean Sea, lies a community of extreme poverty.  Many of the children cannot afford to attend school or eat regular meals.  In Calvary’s Care seeks to minister Christ’s love to these children in a tangible, relational way.  Each month, the families of sponsored children come to our ministry house by appointment.  Our staff sits with the family, talks with them about what’s happening in their family, prays with them and for them, shares the Word with them, and then gives the family $25 worth of supplies (rice, beans, cooking oil, sugar, crackers, and sweet treats) for each sponsored child.  Our staff sends reports back to us so that sponsors can know what’s happening with their sponsored children and their families.  Calvary Chapel is funding the facility, staff salaries, and all operating expenses from our missions budget—not from the money sponsors send for the children.

SPONSORSHIP

For $25 per month, you can provide necessary food staples to a child challenged by poverty. Additionally, your sponsored child will receive personal care through our staff as they extend the love of Jesus Christ through prayer, fellowship, weekly Bible classes, and special activities.

Every sponsor will receive a photo and information about their sponsored child, along with periodic updates. We also encourage sponsors to write letters and send photos to the children they sponsor.

Click on the "Sponsor a Child" link in the top menu or download a Sponsorship Brochure to get started. If you have questions, contact sponsorship@incalvaryscare.org or 1-888-873-8827.

NOTE: IRS regulations prohibit transferring donations directly to individuals if the donations are to be considered tax-deductible. In order to comply with this requirement and to provide continuous benefits to sponsored children, In Calvary’s Care combines funds. This means that each child in the sponsorship program receives $25.00 per month in benefits even if their sponsor has not contributed the sponsorship for that month. This also means that In Calvary’s Care does not refund any donations that it receives so that if a sponsored child moves away or otherwise is dropped from the sponsorship program, any donations received for that child will not be refunded, but will be used for the benefit of another child in the program. We cannot accept specific donations that are only for the benefit of one child like paying for a child’s medical expenses or giving a child a birthday present. We do, however, collect donations toward the "Christmas Fund," the total being divided and distributed evenly to each child in the program in the form of a gift certificate to a local department store.
